We instruct our clients in general housekeeping, money management, mobility training, socialization, self-advocacy, and other miscellaneous independent living skills in their home and community environments. Due to employees working out in the community with our consumers, a dependable vehicle with current registration and insurance is required for this position.
We currently have Full and Part Time openings for a counselor/instructor to work with our clientele. These positions vary and pay according to experience and location. We are currently interested in those persons who are flexible, reliable, and accountable with experience working with seniors or individuals with an intellectual disability. Specifically, the position requires excellent written and verbal skills.

ILS Instructor - Monterey
We are looking for a part time instructor to teach independent living skills to developmentally disabled adults in their homes. Experience preferred, but we're willing to train the right individual. This position requires extreme attention to detail, patience and the ability to work independently. Our instructors provide transportation to and from various appointments and errands, so a reliable car is a necessity, with mileage reimbursed at .35 cents per mile. The current opening is for the Monterey area. We cannot emphasize enough that we are looking for someone who has good personal boundaries, is responsible, understanding yet firm in their teaching method, follows directions and will arrive when scheduled. Applicant will be required to pass a Department Of Justice background check, provide proof of auto insurance, and obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Day Program Instructor - Oroville
We are looking for a fun, outgoing instructor to work in a day program with developmentally disabled adults. Experience with planning and implementing group activities preferred, but we're willing to train the right individual. This position requires patience and the ability to work in a sometimes overwhelming group setting, versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Our instructors provide transportation to and from the program, so a reliable car is a necessity, with mileage reimbursed at .35 cents per mile. Applicant will be required to pass a Department Of Justice background check (No misdemeanor or felony convictions, including DUI), provide proof of auto insurance, and obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire. Pay starts at $10.00 per hour, and will be full time at 40 hours per week (Monday thru Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm). Benefits available after 90 days.
